Project Overview:
The VICE Guide to Las Vegas was a custom editorial build that featured a mix of articles, videos, and an interactive Google Map. This project offered users a dynamic and immersive experience, allowing them to explore Las Vegas through curated content and real-time navigation of key locations, all while maintaining VICE's bold editorial style.
The interactive map allowed users to navigate Las Vegas in real-time, highlighting key locations featured in the editorial content such as restaurants, nightlife spots, hidden gems, and cultural landmarks. Each point on the map was linked to specific articles or videos, creating a fully interactive guide that brought the city’s vibrant culture to life.

As the lead designer I responsible for shaping the overall user experience, designing the interface, and collaborating closely with editorial and project stakeholders to bring the vision to life. I led the design of four main subsections—Adventure, Food & Drinks, Nightlife, and the interactive map—by reusing the components card grids it ensured a seamless experience across content types .

Designed a clean, navigable interface that balanced editorial storytelling with interactive exploration
Editor’s Letter CTA, created a prominent call-to-action inviting readers to dive deeper into the editorial vision, encouraging them to engage with the guide beyond surface-level browsing.
Integrated a custom Google Map experience, linking articles and videos to real-world locations in real time
Developed scalable design components for article and video cards, maintaining consistency while allowing editorial flexibility
Collaborated with engineers to align design with technical feasibility, particularly for map functionality and content linking
Conducted user testing sessions to validate navigation patterns and interaction with the map

Impact
The VICE Guide to Las Vegas successfully blended editorial content with interactive functionality, offering users an engaging, intuitive way to explore the city. The project strengthened VICE’s reputation for innovative digital storytelling and served as a blueprint for future interactive guides without much of an uplift and that the work was lightweight and low-lift.

The interactive Google Map serves as a dynamic guide, allowing users to explore key locations associated with the content, enhancing their experience of the featured places. Additionally, the page includes an Editor's Letter call-to-action (CTA), inviting readers to delve deeper into the editorial vision behind the guide and further explore the curated offerings. Overall, the layout is designed to seamlessly blend multimedia content, making it easy for users to discover and interact with the information in an intuitive and visually engaging way.
